Ready to get started? Well, one of the first steps in preparing your property for sale is to remove your extra belongings.
The goal? To allow the selling points of your house -- like a fireplace, or built-ins -- to shine. Here are a few suggestions to help get your house ready for the market:
Step 1: Seek professional advice. As a certified, professional stager, I will suggest what should be removed and repositioned within your house. If you plan to move prior to selling, any remaining furniture can be arranged to complement your property. If you plan to move after your house sells, decide what belongings you plan to take with you; then, we can donate, sell, or give away what’s left before putting your house on the market.
Step 2: Take photos. I’ll market your house to appeal to the buyer’s eye and include digital photos of your main living spaces. You’ll be amazed at the difference removing some of
your pieces will make.
Step 3: Hire a mover. Remember, while moving some of the smaller pieces may make sense to do on your own, it is usually best to have a third party handle the labor of moving furniture. Trusted professionals are available to make this an easy and pleasant process.
Allowing buyers to see more of your property and less personal items will enable them to envision themselves moving in -- with their own belongings -- making your property their new home!
